1 tsp. ginger paste

3 green chilies

1tsp. salt

1 medium onion

1/3 cup chickpea lentils

1 potato

1 tsp. cumin powder

1/4 tsp. turmeric powder

1 tbsp. lemon juice

1 egg

1 tsp. garam masala

2-3 tbsp. chopped fresh coriander

1 tbsp. chana/lentil flour

1-2 tbsp. breadcrumbs

1 tbsp. lemon juice

Servings – 10-12 Shami kababs

Method –

Take a pan and put the chicken with ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, green chilies, and onion.

Add half a cup of water and let the chicken and all the ingredients cook on a low flame. After that increase the heat and dry off the excess moisture. Now, allow this mixture to completely cool down.

Then, grind the mixture until it gets smooth. Take it out into a bowl and add the chana flour and half beaten egg to it.

Add garam masala, lemon juice, chopped coriander and mix well. When the mixture gets dry, add the rest of the egg and mix. In case, it is sticky, add 1-2 tbsp of breadcrumbs and mix.

Now, refrigerate the mixture for some time.

When ready to fry, shape the kababs into flat discs and deep fry them until they are golden brown in color.

Crispy Shami kababs are ready to be served.
