Chicken Manchurian

Chicken Manchurian is a popular recipe, mostly available at all Indo-Chinese restaurants. People prefer to order the dish for its yummy taste. The gravy is served with full Indian flavors and spices. It is easy to prepare and can be cooked in half an hour.


Chicken – 500 gms

Capsicum – 1

For the Batter:

Egg -1

Cornflour – 2 tbsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Black Pepper Powder – 1 tsp

Soya Sauce – 2 tsp

For Manchurian Sauce:

Red Chili Sauce – 1 tbsp

Tomato Ketchup – 2 tbsp

Black Pepper powder – 1 tsp

Ginger – 2 tbsp

Garlic – 2 tbsp

Green Chili – 1

Onion – 2

Spring Onion – 2

Soy Sauce – 2 tbsp

Vinegar – 1 tsp

Oil – 2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Water – 3 cups



Mix the egg, plain flour, corn flour, salt and one tablespoon soy sauce in a bowl. Now, add and mix the chicken pieces. Set it aside for half an hour.

Heat sufficient oil in a wok and deep fry the marinated chicken for 2-3 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Now, heat the oil in a wok and add the ginger and garlic and stir it.

Add the onion and green chilies and continue to fry it for a minute. Stir in the remaining soy sauce, chicken stock and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Stir it in the corn flour mixture and cook until the sauce gets thickened. Add fried chicken pieces and capsicum and cook for a few minutes more.

Add and mix vinegar. Now, serve it after garnishing with spring onion greens.
