Fennel seeds, popularly known as Saunf in India is famous for its strong flavour and smell. However, not many people are aware of its other remedial benefits; fennel seeds are an amazing remedy for all kinds of gastric troubles and acidity, they treat indigestion, intestinal gas, bloating, loss of appetite, and colic in infants. The oil present in the fennel seeds adds to its anti-inflammatory properties. 

How to use

Munching a few fennel seeds can not only give you a fresh breath but also give you relief from flatulence, bloating and indigestion. The fiber content of saunf aids digestion. 

Another amazing recipe is fennel tea. You can also dry roast some fennel seeds and grind them. Take a spoon of this powder as it is or mix it into a glass of warm water. 

Homemade fennel tea:
 
To make your own home-made fennel tea, all you have do is:

•Grind a few fennel seeds, so that the seeds release their oils and aroma. 
•Place the grinded seeds in a strainer and pour hot water over them, such that the seeds are completely dipped in water for a couple of minutes. 
•Remove the strainer and add more hot water if required. 

This tea can also be made using fennel leave, just pull some fresh leaves off the bulb and boil them in water. Now strain the leaves and your fennel tea is ready! 

Having these remedies twice a day in an empty stomach can show effective results.
